Diagnosis is the first step for tumor diagnosis and treatment.. Beijing Boren Hospital starts the pathology laboratory. It is led by Professor Zifen GAO, a famous lymphoma pathologist in China. Its specialty: lymphoid and hematopoietic system pathology (molecular pathology) in adults and children to the nature and type of a tumor so as to provide prognostic predictors and a basis for clinical treatment.

As gene sequencing technologies mature, tumors have entered the stage of “precision typing at the genetic level”. The pathology laboratory has created a stereoscopic MICM integrated diagnostic model that incorporates morphology (M), immunology (I), cytogenetics (C) and molecular science (M) for diagnosis. In addition, it cooperates with Mayo Clinic to explore an international model for pathologist training.
